Günstig: Gelungen! Sehr viel schwerer, aber auch besser. Der Computer spielt verglichen mit der KI aus dem Vorgängerprogramm wesentlich offensiver, im normalen Schwierigkeitsgrad mußte ich ständig feindliche Attacken abwehren. Selbst der Trick, sich mit Sandsäcken bis in die gegnerische Basis bauen zu können, ist nun nicht mehr möglich, sobald ein Sandsäckchen bedrohlich nahe in gegnerische Gefilde klettert, schickt der Computer flugs seine Armeen los, um das Damoklesschwert zu beseitigen. Grafik und Sound entsprechen dem gewohnt hohen Niveau, auch das Missionsdesign kann sich absolut sehen lassen und stellt die neue Referenz im momentan hart umgekämpften Strategiespiel-Genre dar. Viele der Missionen warten mit Primär- und Sekundärzielen auf, nicht jedes Missionsziel ist zu Beginn des Kampfes bekannt, was das Spiel sehr kurzweilig werden läßt. ComputerGamingWorld: Despite this, and the fact that RED ALERT could have been a real leap forward instead of a very cool expansion, it is still easily the best real-time strat game of the quarter. It will slake the thirst of any COMMAND & CONQUER fan while we wait for C&C2 to arrive, and it offers a solid enough game in and of itself to make an excellent entry game into the genre.
